Reserving a Laughing Stock Ranch foal.
Starting in 2006 we are going to be letting people reserve a foal, or more if
they wish.
You may do this by asking to be put on the list for which ever mare you
want, you will be required to make a $100.00 dollar deposit. This will hold
your place. We will be gelding all of our colts at apx 4 months old. If you wish
to have your little boy remain as such the price is as stated below.
Prices are as follows:
Filly's $1500.00
Gelding's $1000.00
Stud Colt's $2500.00
When your foal is born, nurses and walks around you will be sent photos. At
1 month old you are required to start paying on the first half of the foals
cost. The other half is due before you pick the foal up. Added to the foals
cost will be $30.00 a month for board after the foal is weaned at apx 5
months old. The foal will be vet checked and will be issued a health
certificate at apx 1 month old. The foal will receive foal shots at birth
provided by the LSR.
If we have not received any payment* by August 1st and the foal does not
have someone else in line for it then the foal will be placed for sale in the
Eastern Idaho State Fair. This takes place the first week of September. The
price to purchase the foal at this time may not be the same as the prices
listed above. You will also lose your deposit in this case. (the only time this
will not happen is if the foal is less then 1 month old on August 1st)
If you do not like the foal you have no obligation to take it. But you lose your
deposit unless you ask to be put on the list again, it is not required you ask
for the same mare. Or you may take another foal that no one else has
claimed. If you take a foal your deposit is applied toward your purchase
price. If we have not been contacted by the foals 3 week mark you have lost
the foal and deposit.
If you want to pick the stallion that gets bred to the mare you chose there is
an extra $200.00 dollar fee. This is only an option if you are the next in line
for a foal out of that mare and it is before March 1st of the breeding year.
If you ask for a certain stallion before the breeding year starts there will be
no extra fee. The breeding year starts on January 1st.
We will be posting in the fall which stallions will be bred to which mares the
next spring. And a best guess of what color the foal will be.
If the foal is not taken by the first person on the list, the next person will be
notified and so on.
